📖 How to Use This Tool

This is the first step in your GiftClosure journey. The Relationship-Budget Matrix helps you brainstorm gift directions based on two simple inputs: who the recipient is and how much you're willing to spend.

  1. Choose a Relationship — Select from 9 relationship types, from spouse to acquaintance. Each type has curated gift directions that match the nature of your connection.
  2. Pick a Budget Range — Choose from 5 budget tiers, from under $25 to over $200. The matrix will filter suggestions that fit your financial comfort zone.
  3. Generate Suggestions — Click the button and receive 3 gift directions with descriptions. Each suggestion includes a category tag and a brief explanation of why it works.
  4. Refine Further — Use Tool B (Exclusion Filter) to remove categories you want to avoid, and Tool C (Timing Checker) to verify the gift date and occasion.

💡 This tool outputs gift directions — categories and ideas — never specific brands or product links. No affiliate relationships exist.

Demo Case: Spouse • $50–$100
Imagine you're buying for your spouse with a budget of $50–$100. The matrix suggests three gift directions suitable for a romantic partner at this price level — such as a shared experience, a personalized item, or a premium consumable.

Step 1: Choose Your Parameters

💡 Pro Tip

After generating suggestions here, head to Tool B to exclude unwanted categories, then Tool C to check your timing. The three tools work best as a complete workflow.

FAQ

Does this tool recommend specific products?+
No. The Relationship-Budget Matrix outputs gift directions — categories like "Home & Decor" or "Experiences" — along with examples (e.g., "a cooking class for two"). We never mention brand names, product SKUs, or retailer links.
How many relationship types are available?+
There are 9 relationship types: Spouse/Partner, Parent, Child, Sibling, Close Friend, Coworker, Boss/Manager, Date/Romantic Interest, and Acquaintance. Each has a unique set of gift directions across all 5 budget tiers.
What if my budget falls between two ranges?+
Try both adjacent budget ranges and compare the results. For example, if you have $75, check both "$50–$100" for fuller ideas and glance at "$25–$50" for budget-friendly directions that leave room for wrapping or a card.
Can I combine this with the other tools?+
Yes. After generating suggestions here, copy your relationship and budget into Tool B (Exclusion Filter) to remove unwanted categories. Then use Tool C (Timing Checker) to verify your gift date and occasion.
Do you earn money from these suggestions?+
No. GiftClosure is entirely neutral. We do not host affiliate links, accept commissions, or receive referral fees. Our only goal is to help you find the right gift direction.
